CODE OF CONDUCT AGAINST THE SEXUAL EXPLOITATION OF CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS
In accordance with Law No. 28251, “Law Against Abuse and Sexual Exploitation,” which incorporated the crimes of user-client and sexual exploitation of children and adolescents in the tourism sector, we recognize the MINIMUM COMMITMENTS THAT ALL TOURISM SERVICE PROVIDERS MUST ASSUME.
To counteract the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents in travel and tourism, tourism service providers shall adopt a Code of Conduct that must be observed by their legal representatives, directors, administrators, employees, and contractors linked to the provision of tourism services. This is to ensure compliance with the obligations established in Law No. 28251, to prevent behaviors classified under this law, and to incorporate the following minimum control measures:

- Refrain from offering, either explicitly or covertly, plans that involve the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents in tourism promotion programs and travel plans.
- Refrain from providing tourists, either directly or indirectly, with information about places where commercial sexual exploitation of children and adolescents is coordinated or practiced.
- Refrain from taking tourists, either directly or through third parties, to establishments or locations where the commercial sexual exploitation of children and adolescents takes place, as well as from bringing minors to tourists’ accommodations, including ships located in international waters, for purposes of commercial sexual exploitation.
- Refrain from facilitating vehicles on tourist routes for purposes of sexual exploitation or abuse involving children and adolescents.
- Prevent the entry of children and adolescents into hotels, lodging establishments, bars, similar businesses, and other tourism service establishments for purposes of exploitation or sexual abuse.
- Implement measures to prevent any personnel associated with the company from offering tourism services that facilitate sexual activities with children and adolescents.
- Report to MINCETUR and other competent authorities any known incidents or locations related to the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents, ensuring that the company has internal channels for making the necessary reports to the relevant authorities.
- Develop and disseminate, within the company and among its suppliers of goods and services, a policy outlining measures to prevent and counteract any form of sexual exploitation of children and adolescents in travel and tourism.
- Provide training for all company personnel on preventing the commercial sexual exploitation of children and adolescents.
- Inform customers about the legal consequences in Peru for engaging in the sexual exploitation and abuse of children and adolescents.
- Display this Code of Conduct and other commitments and measures assumed by the service provider in a visible location for employees within the establishment or business premises to ensure the protection of children and adolescents.
